With mixed emotions...

I have to announce that I have sold the 10D. This is a kind of odd as it has become my companion which I know so well and gave me such great pleasure. I do have to make the decision whether I want to let so many euro's just sit there and not be used frequently. This way I can make up for some of the investment done in the 20D... (let's not talk about the huge depreciation..) But I am happy that it has been sold to someone who will cherish it and lives nearby so I will be able to pad him on the back some time or shoot a picture with it..

Bye bye mon cheri 10D, till we'll meet again..

Too hot to handle?

It was time for a studio shot with my selfmade lighting construction. Lets call it an ode to the numerous bottles of Tabasco I consumed while I lived in Paris.. (my favorite was to just make a Baguette with Emmentaler cheese on it in the oven and then loads of tasbasco with it.. (and a G&T - GinTonic)

Sunday morning walk and too much ERR01's..

I got up early to walk through the polder a bit with Belle. We encountered some fauna but also some annoying ERR01 on my 70-200 2.8 IS.. I might bring it in some day cause it irritates me when I miss a shot..

So here are some moments and while you all consume I will get back to the babyroom and finish the last details.. (pink or blue, who has a clue?).

The best of the worst..

I walked my dog when I saw that the sky was a nice inky brownish colour and had a nice spooky yellow moon to illustrate it.. So I got back in the house to get the 70-200 and a tripod to get a nice spooky series. Once I was on a field and set up my camera somebody up there decided to go take a shower... So as I have to do without the 750.000 rubber seals from a 1Ds or 1DII I had to split and run inside not to ruin my camera..

But this was the best I can offer you for now..

The new Canon 20D effect...

I have been browsing a bit on dpreview.com and some others sites and you instantly see the release effects.. The dutch site: www.fotoapparatuur.nl has a large amount of 10D's for sale, posted at the date of the release of the new one. Corné has it already on sale for a irritating low price - € 1.549,00 - (I paid exactly that at 28 december of last year.. but if I had waited I would have also missed the 10.000 pictures I already shot..)

So, product info is there, it's on sale, pricedecline of the 10D has started... Who bids!?

(Just kidding, the 10D is a killer camera and the next replacement will be a 1DII or if money stays out, a Mark III :-)

10D mark II after all?

You wouldn't believe the anger, hope, words and irritation spent on dpreview.com about people posting news and rumours around the 10D mark II. Everybody thinks that a new 10D will come out and they are all curious about the specs..

I think with the Photokina coming up and posts about discontinued deliveries on the 10D it might finally come. Well, at least I got you a picture already:

I like to sail so sometimes you need to get new shoes that are best fit to do so (Does not make you go faster though.. I know) I am picky guy when it comes to certain products or clothes. I want that special item because I like the color, quality, brand, design etc..

I will share you the details of my 20+ or so shopvisits during my holiday to get these new Sebago's.. I visited probably 10 shops in Barcelona (none had it and only one had it but not my size), None french shops in various yachting shops had it. and finally the 3rd Dutch shop (in the second city I looked for) had them..
