Two different things in one post...

The econonmy of fear is so apparent in the States... Fox, Bush, everybody is creating the economy of fear... I bought a book in a SF bookstor about the fear for China and how it affects the US (think forward instead of doom thinking, and yes, superpower does not exist, we all live in this small village called world)

I also saw this book, I really had to laugh loud.. be more creative and your job won't be gone :-)

On my way from Rotterdam to Eindhoven I pass an ex exclusive car company. I saw that they were refitting the building... and wow, Now it is Porsche Goirle .. They had some nice stuff. I took the exit and looked around..

The last pic was a Boxster that they were about to deliver to a client. Look at the very funny personalization: They changed the Porsche sign to have the name of the lady on it.. Well Laura, good luck with your car!

Driving this would definitely beat a night out with Paris Hilton :-)

I once put..

A ridiculous post on my log about the new MarkII n. Too nice specs that I read somewhere... but this beats my post by far:

"Sept. 3: Sports Illustrated photographers are seen using prototypes of the new Canon 1d Mark III, which is rumored to have 16mb, 20 fps, 120 frame buffer and full frame capability. Street price rumored to be $4900. "

(if only it could be true... 20Fs per second, that would make HD TV useless, having movies at 20Fs at around 5000x3200 pixels :-)

1D MarkIII ?

I was inquiring for a 1D MarkIIn and this very knowledgable company who could easily sell me one but which I have a good relationship with, told me to wait to Feb6 '06 because their will probably be a new 1D MarkIII reveiled which drops the price on the 1D MarkII. They do a lot of business with Japan directly so my guess is that he is right...

Exciting, will have more duku anyway than... :-)

Moments...

My weblog is suffering of severe neglectance... not that I do not like to post or photograph anymore, on the contrary, when I see the catalogus (go to press or download and download their PDF catalogs, god I love images and design so much!) of VEER.com I know for sure that when I made my money and can take it easy a bit more I want to help the world with showing life through photography. I would like to be a storyteller through pictures and maybe raise money for the people in need..

But for now I need to work 70-80 hours as a founding father for a smalltime salary to make our company become nr. 1 in the market. We will succeed! (Monica?).

So here are some pictures at one of my clients, Philips, taken from the SK building at 07:20 AM...

This could have been a nice dramatic shot when I had my 20D.. I felt kind of lonely walking at past 20:00 to my car on this empty lot.. :-)

This is the Dutch new army vehicle, it does 2 hummers for breakfast and a range rover sport as an appetizer.. (I heard through the grapevine)

Ps, I am offered a nearly new demo Canon 1D Mk II for 2600,00 Euro ex VAT.. from one of the most professional stores.. that is a neat price. I might be able to decrease it to 2500,00... have no "fuck you money" (I love that term, it is so right on ;-) now to just buy it but it is tempting.. or buy a N version when it's bonus time? whatta ya think ;-)?

Walk the dog..

A new companion for life entered the club. Harm (a real photographer :-) was showing off with his youngest child in the family, miss pebble. Although the picture is a bit shitty and not taken with a DSLR, puppies always get quality publishing space on my weblog..

The dog is a sort of jack russell tuned for ALL TERRAIN, with extra high legs for maximum ground clearance.

BTW, Anyone ordered a 5D already?

Canon 1D MarkII N specs..

As I was already corrected about impossible data that I found on the web regarding the revised 1D markII it is now out in the air.. DP REVIEW has the news, as the leaked PDF was indeed stating that I could be published on August 22nd!

As you can read in the comments of the last post, Gerard is even better informed than me. There are some rumours on the Japanese sites (mostly) about some new products. The fun thing is that companies post messages before they are meant to go live (remember the messages on the TV about Prince Claus who appeared to be death before he actually was ;-)

Canon 5D...

The Canon 5D will come out in not too many days probably. Very new and the first fullframe DSLR under 4K Euro's or dollars.. It is fun to see all the forums and weblogs get all excited over it. Everybody is photoshopping their way into fame by making modded 20D's look like the 5D...

Some guy got fed up with all the people saying that they want to trade in their 20D four months old for a new 5D.. it is a $2000 price difference and a totally different camera. I will wait till the last 1D MarkII go over the bench for a mere $2000 in about a year time..

Casi(N)o...

I have this Casio Exilim... It is a very sleak and small camera with a great big screen to see what you've just shot. I had a sony P5 before but this one is way smaller.. But I made a mistake.. being a 20D owner and liking photography much, I must admit that this camera totally sucks image quality wise. If you do not put this thing on a tripod or hold it totally still (and freeze up the playing children) it gives bad images...even by broad daylight...

So my advice, DO NOT BUY IT. There are so many good camera's on the market from Sony, Canon and Konica Minolta for example.
